The
COE sponsors several special projects as well as grant-related
and professional development initiatives designed to
stimulate intellectual vitality, to
create new knowledge, and engender passion for education
as a profession (COE, 2001). The projects and initiatives enable the facilitation
of global minded, technologically creative teacher preparation
candidates.
The professional development initiatives involve partnerships that support the
professional development of P-12 teachers, pre-service
teachers, and
University faculty who after participating in professional development activities provide enriched
learning opportunities, especially in math and science,
to P-12 students.
